I tried to respond to your last post, but couldn't for some reason. Anyway...

I played a MW 18 a couple of years ago, so this is a review relying heavily on memory.

The dsign is good, being compact and ergonomically good. It's a small horn for a BB-flat rotary, and would be best suited for small ensembles and quintets and such. You could play it in a large wind ensemble with a section mate, but if he/she fell ill and missed rehearsal, you would DEFINITELY notice.

The sound is smooth and pleasant, and even throughout the range of the horn. The valveset is excellent also. I didn't get a chance to play the horn in front of a tuner, but nothing jumped out to my ear as being horribly out of tune. The horn speaks easily, verging on being "punchy" sounding.

This is the best I can do not having played the thing for a couple of years. Hope it helped.
