Hello all. I am interested in trying a Rudy Meinl piston CC. I have noted that there have been a number of positive posts regarding this particular horn and was wondering if anyone had some input on how they sound compared to the the HB-2P or HB-21. I like the way the Hirsbrunners sound however, I do not want to lay out the kind of bread it costs to buy one. I currently have a Meinl Weston 2000 that is one of the best examples of it's type but I feel that the sound, while very functional in an ensemble setting is a little on the course side and not the warmest sound compared to the Hirsbrunners. I have a Nirschl 6/4 for a big horn and am looking for a similar roundness of sound as compared to the Meinl Weston's grainy, gritty sound. This is no value statement as to the quality of sound of the Meinl's but merely a personal preference. Any input from owners of the Rudy would be greatl appreciated. Thanks in advance.
