Dietmar,
Congratulations on a great purchase. I played one of those Holton CC's in the latter 1970's in college. It is amusing now to note that no one else wanted to play that horn, because it wasn't a rotor-valved European horn, just some old-fashioned American tuba. Agile it was, and move earth it did!
Just one warning - don't remove the lyre-holder! You'll notice in photos of Mr. Jacobs with his York that the lyre-holder flange is right there on the leadpipe. It is necessary that it stay in place, or you'll lose some of the magic ;^) Seriously, though, you never know when you might be called upon to play an outdoor summer performance where it might be handy, and they can be handy at Tubachristmas, too.
