But my experience with the Willson Eb was identical to what you're talking about above: none of the notes were grossly out of tune, but nothing lined up correctly either - at least to my poor tin ears. However, the main reason that I dumped the Willson was because that it was, for me anyway, an ergonomic horror show. The horn did not fit my face or right hand correctly at all. I could have made it work for me, if I had had another thousand dollars to dump into modifications. The lesson from this sad tale: try before you buy. I'm now a happy owner of a Besson 983 Eb - a horn that a lot of other people were happy to unload (mine plays great).
