For the sort of sound you are accustomed to, I would suggest that the new King 2341 is the way to go. It is quite similar in concept to the CB-50, but it's a BBb horn to begin with and there's no compromise. I know a pro who plays in a trad-jazz band who was trying to work with his G-50 as a BBb instrument, and traded it outright when he tried the King.
But get a good one--they are quite variable.
