Nobody disputes that statement of yours!

Only the combination of a generic Austrian/Latin term for an Austrian town, where Conn International was made for a shorter period some 10 years ago, does not point towards the Czech period of Conn International.

As for Lew posting telling of his former instrument being above the general standard of Cerveny instruments:

Cerveny never lacked in inventiveness. After all Cerveny designs are behind almost every low conical brass instrument with rotary valves, that is seen today. Cerveny also has produced some very high quality instruments especially pre-WWII.

Today Cerveny appears to produce along the same lines as found with Miraphone: the same basic designs can be had in several levels of outfit quality. Variables are in metals and transmission mechanics.

From the current Cerveny tuba page.

Finish options:
X... minibal action
S... silver-plated finish
R... nickel-silver rim
M... nickel-silver mouthpipe
P... nickel-silver valve casings

Note: Red brass instruments come standard with nickel-silver mouthpipe, rim, rotary valve casings and linkages.
