I went to Norway this last spring and I looked out my window at our pit stop in Iceland to see my new tuba being thrown off the airplane-over the cart-and onto the ground all while being rained on. I opened the case when we got to Oslo and all 4 rotory valves had been bent a few degrees counter-clockwise as if they were four people in a marching band making a left hand turn in a parade. I was supposed to the the featured soloist playing Concertino for Tuba and Band but that didn't happen because my horn (accually the school's horn) was destroyed. So I'm kind leary of flying with my tuba any more.
