Yeah, and in that post he sounds a little full of himself. Sorry. However, if you were hoping to try the Besson 980 I would strongly suggest staying away from the Mirafone as a substitute. The Miraphone isn't the worst Eb tuba ever made (nor should it be in the running) but it's certainly a big horn. The compensating register is more open than the 981, but it sounds like a CC. And if you think you'd prefer the smaller 980 over the 981 then the Miraphone would be a move in the wrong direction.

I owned a Miraphone for a year or so, so email me with any questions if you'd like. The bottom line is, though, it's a nice horn if you're looking for a 3+1 Eb that sounds like a CC for a reasonable price.
