you are right, I never should have said Harvey never Played a 3J, of course he tooted on one at least a few times.
But it was never his main horn, and just because he played a 4 valve Conn, doesn't mean any body selling a piston Conn has the right to say "heres you chance at the horn harvey phillips played on for years" and then issue a "retraction" by saying "it is my understanding that this is the MODEL he played" sorry, neither statement is true.
What about saying "this tuba is the same brand as Harvey Phillips played for years" I would have no problem with this statement, but unfortunatly it doesn't help sell tubas, so people rarely speak the plain truth.
BTW, thanks for correcting my spelling. I have a great memory, but typing skills and proofreading are not my strong points.
