To me, recordings of classical music needn't have technical flaws (as seemingly few do - regardless of whether recorded in the 1940's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, or 90's) and be released - particularly by major labels (and particularly when the piece is being played is all too well-known by the majority of those who are likely to purchase the recording.
To me, it's a big distraction. Heck, I can hear many similar errors in my own living room without purchasing professionally-performed and professionally-produced recordings.
