Matt has done great work for me in the past and I'm hoping to talk with him this Saturday (AT) the Army Tuba Conference about this problem. My valve casing slots look (under magnification) to be true, smooth and sharp-edge free. I'm baffled and also wondering where the particles of the degrading guides are ending up? If this wear is indeed "normal", then I need to buy these pieces by the gross!
