I strongly disagree. Practicing F tuba too much can hurt the broad CC tuba sound that you will be expected to have in 95% of the jobs out there. Norm Pearson said in a masterclass that tuba practicing should be 70% CC and 30% F. In my experience, that is the best approach. I don't even touch my F until I have done at least an hour on my CC in the morning.

I will assume that the original poster is going to school to become an orchestral tubist. If that is correct, than the vast majority of your playing should focus on getting the best CC tuba sound you can. Only if he were to focus on a solo career would I recommend a different approach.
