I did my six with the 63rd in Haddonfield, NJ, from 1965 through 1971. We were not the 'official' band of the NJNG. We were a half strength Army band which had been deactivated and detached to the Guard. The CO was a Republican State Committee member (if memory serves), so we played lots of VFW and Legion parades. Always seemed to be marching BEHIND the horses :)
