I agree with Expert. Just do it, and don't worry 'bout it. Make it sound good. Find some really good performances live or not on recordings of the finest players. For me, it is my teacher and just listening to one of my favorite players', Warren Deck. I have many recordings of the NYPO with him, as well as seeing several live broadcasts over the years. I have never had a lesson with him, but I have learned and improved just by listening to him. My sound is fuller, more consistent in all registers, and my high range is pretty darn secure just by "getting" what my teacher has taught me, as well as listening to Deck. Find one of your favorite players, and take some good concepts from him/her and apply them to your playing.
