Mr. Yeo did more than most audition comittee members do, in that he tried to clear the air clogged with rumours with his own insiders view. In all fairness most orchestras give little feedback about what happens in auditions, and for good reason. It is difficult to balence the need to have a fair and open audition with the need for the orchestra to deliberate privately about each candidates qualifacations. Unless someone has a real greivance I suggest we let this thread die.

The questions regarding who used what horn, have a limited value, after all mnay players are interested in what leading players do.

As far as how to win auditions, I've only won a few in part time orchestras, but it seems to me that the best way is to study with a teacher who has won auditions, sat on audition panels, and then do what your teacher says as best you can. (read careful preparation and practice)
