I use a PT-88 for most of my playing, and I find it to be a great mouthpiece that fits my horn very well. However, it's also an extremely large mouthpiece, and can be very limiting in smaller ensembles or solo playing. For a high school student I would think something that was more well rounded would be more useful than a mouthpiece like that. A lot of people like the PT-44, which is a little bit smaller. Try some stuff out and see how you like it, and have someone listen to you play scales or a solo on your current mouthpiece and on the one you're considering buying before you buy anything.
