Congrats on your new horn. Yamaha 642S are great. Bach makes large shank versions of their 6.5 AL. If memory serves, you might be better off with the 6.5A (without the "L") as it has a more open backbore. Can someone else on the list verify this? Isn't there also a 6.5 AM? I remember when I got a large shank 6.5 AL years ago that the backbore was extremely tight and that there was another model that was significantly more open.
Definitely do NOT make a decision based on the mouthpiece that came with the horn. If memory serves, it has a very tight constrictive backbore. I'd recommend getting a large shank version of the 6.5 (AL, AM, A). That will make the rim feel identical to your face. Of course Schilke 51Ds are a tad larger (just barely) but have a much deeper cup that affords an even darker tone. Good luck!
