The nation's best euphonium players will be there. And if the nation's best euphonium players do not show then no one will be hired. Although this is unlikely, IMO.
Unless you are at the top of your game and have prepared the material to the highest level imaginable on a world class level, then at least try to get out and enjoy the city afterwards. The pinnacle for most euphonium players is a position with one of the premier bands. It can be argued that the Marine Band is the most highly sought after. Do the math and you realize that only a very very high level of musicianship is going to even allow one to be competitive on euphonium at that audition.
