I recently got to try out the little Yamaha 621--wow, what a horn! Very agile with a lovely sound to my ears. But my concern is that this horn wouldn't be able to have enough support for a quintet setting (I'm not as worried with our 40-someodd person wind ensemble, as there are 2 other tubists using larger BBb's). But in my boredom, I was looking at the MW website and came across the new 2182. Has anyone managed to try one of these things? If so, how does it play/feel? Is its low range comparable to the Yamahas? I personally dislike the sound of the 822, as it's too bland for my personal tastes. But it seems like this new horn may hold some promise. Also, any word on the price?

Regards,

Matt Goosen
