the tuba is the rotary Meinl Weston 2155, which never actually went to production. It's a larger horn than the piston 2155, with an 18" bell, wider branches and more open wrap. It has a tapered bore through the valves. It's a full-fledged 5/4 CC with a gorgeous sound. The pitch on this one is actually quite good. I have to use an alternate fingering for Eb below the staff (1&5) but everything else lines up pretty well.
ya, the gas on this mute makes things interesting... but fortunately he's not eating any solids yet so it's noisy but there isn't much scent involved. :^)
