This is right up there with the "a freshly waxed car runs better" school of thought. But some times it really seems to, and the innumerable; heavyweight, light weight, precious metal plated, cyrogenically treated, held in front of "I Love Raymond" reruns, solutions all give solace to those seeking that one last bit of oomph that will push them over the top. In my case it's an endless fascination with excessive quantities of a wild variety of lubricants. Yeah, they have an effect (on the rug as a minimum) as do almost all of the above but are they the "silver bullet"? Probably not.
