it seems to have escaped the industry's notice that what Mary Bono did was clearly a case of conflict of interest. She introduced legislation that was clearly in her own personal financial self-interest--that of the extension of copyright of the works of her late husband.
But then, "conflict of interest" seems to be a concept largely lost on the denizens of Foggy Bottom.
