What's the difference? There are several ways to compare cloths: number of fibers per unit area (sort of like thread count in sheets), thickness (contributes to durability and utility) and guarantee (most Asian- or American-produced cloths are only guaranteed for up to 25 washings, and carry no non-scratch warranty). Trasan®, with 40,000 fibers/sq. centimeter, costs somewhat more, but lasts for years, is guaranteed not to scratch your tuba, and comes in half a dozen different finishes depending on the purpose, i.e: for polishing a tuba, the all-purpose cloth is ideal (and can even be pressed into service as a spit catcher!). Some are textured for vdt's (flat weave, no lint), some for scrubbing (rough) and some for dusting (fluffy, with nylon fibers woven into the poly to generate static).
