The steakhouse comment is a sore point with me. I hate to see any instrument that is playable stuck up on a wall; it's such a waste. I know that most of those are unusable junkers, but every once in a while you see one that looks to be in good shape.
What really ticks me off is when I see a rare out-of-print book or a first edition that's been glued to a restaurant shelf with the pages permanently stuck together. I felt like crying when I saw three extremely rare Jules Verne covers with their insides missing stuck on dining room shelf in a McDonalds.
