I personally doubt that playing trumpet is going to help your upper register on euphonium. And the reason is that you are using a different size mouthpiece. Different size mouthpieces give support to different lip muscles. The lips may be buzzing the same note whether on trumpet or tuba, but on tuba more of the lip is buzzing (due to the si of the mouthpiece) requiring the use of a different set of muscles.

On the low notes you benefit on euphonium after playing tuba because of the increased amount of air required to play tuba. When starting on tuba, and then switching to euphonium you end out using more air then what you would normally use on euphonium thus improving your low register.
