At England's recent RNCM tuba fest, Walt N with Besson were displaying 3 Horns;
#CSO York Copy,
#Besso-Nirschl CC x2,
#Besso-Nirschl Bb.

I played the Bb and LOVED it. 'Exactly' the same as the 4/4 CC but in Bb. 5 valves 4+1 with a York-position 5th (Big). Also same large valveset. Response, sound and intonation were fantastic. This horn was a prototype of course... I asked Mr N about it and he said he hoped to go into production "sometime" with 4 and 5 valve options. I've since Mailed Besson but heard nothing on the subject.

As Besson/Nirschl will be over in DC this coming weekend I wonder if anyone interested could inquire about this horn and obviously play it if it is there. I'm just interested in whether it might be 'out' in the forseeable future??

Yeah, I know Walt made pretty much the same horn in the B&M Symphonic but these seem rare as hens teeth.

Anyone know anything about all of this?
Best,
MP
