...are exactly the same design. Yamaha's 800 series of any instrument (822 tuba, 842 euphonium, 813 bass trombone) has always been their "Custom" line. The 600 series is the "Professional" line, and the 300 series is their intermediate line. Only in the past few years has Yamaha been engraving their bells (The 822 has a giant "CUSTOM" engraved on it)...that's the only difference between newer and older horns, besides any difference that two tubas of the same line will naturallly have.
