Where I live, I don't venture out unless I'm darn sure things are okay. Too many steep hils on the narrow road between here and civilization.
I haven't ventured out this week. Yesterday, I blew snow off our driveway (a three-hour job even with Big Momma snow-blower). Today it was icy and I am telecommuting. Right now it is snowing here, but it may be sleeting down towards DC.
The good news is that it is supposed to clear up starting tomorrow. Once you are on the Interstate, it's fine as long as the precipitation has stopped, and it should have stopped by tomorrow morning. Plus, the temps will warm slightly which will let the salt do its work.
