Cosmeticly, it is a great horn as well. It is beautifully made, just like all modern M-W are.
As far as opinions on horns, everybody has one. The truth of the matter is, you have to play a horn and see if you like it. Not only do you have to play a horn, but I would play at least 2 or 3 of the same model. If the 451 was such crap, as people below have noted, it would not be played by some world-class euphoniumists like John Mueller (U.S. Army Band Soloist) & Uli Haas (Melton Tuba Quartet, numerous opera houses).
Good luck, and know that there are people, many, who really do love the 451.
