I happened to be reading a mystery ("Gone Tomorrow" by Cynthia Harrod-Eagles) just before the NYP concert in which the detective's girlfriend (a concert violinist) made the following joke:
"Why are symphony intermissions only 20 minutes long?
...
So they don't have to retrain the violists!"
(I'm sure this does not apply to Ms. Phelps, but I thought you might enjoy the allusion. If you pass it on, no fair changing the instrument to tuba!)
