The Sammamish Symphony Orchestra will be playing "An Afternnon at the Opera" concert on February 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastlake performing Arts Center. Mary Jo DuGaw, Soprano, and Stuart Lutzenhiser, Tenor, will be singing arias and the orchestra will be playing opera excerpts, overtures and suites.

One of the excerpts from Aida requires two tubas and a euphonium. That right, 3/4 of a tuba quartet. And our second trombone also plays euphonium, so that makes full quartet. So, during intermission, those lucky enough to come out into the lobby will get to hear a real tuba quartet:

Jason Gilliam
Scott Sellevold
Euphoniums

Ivan Giddings
Mark Wiseman
Tubas

I would encourage you to come to the concert and say hi. Check out the orchestra's web site (www.sammamishsymphony.org) for the details.

Mark
