do we pronounce foreign words the wrong way and then presume to be correct. "ChurVAYnee" is how most Americans say it, however, we are incorrect. Correctly spoken, the emphasis is on the first syllable "cer", which sounds like "chair". Second syllable is "ven" as in "Ventura". Third "y" is pronounced "ee" as in "see". The meaning is "red". Cerveny pivo (pivo cerveny in Texas) is red beer. Cerveny vino is red wine. Czech it out if you don't believe me.
