Douglas Yeo?
I have only heard the concerto once at the ITEC convention in Chicago. I have actually tinkered with it, and I can honestly say, I never thought of it on trombone. Taking nothing away from Douglas Yeo. It is an extremely hard concerto for tuba, and I am sure even more so for trombone.
Am I wrong, or is it strange to everyone else that bass bones play the Vaughn Williams, and now, the John Williams?
I know, I know. We, as tuba players, transcribe stuff all the time so I guess it shouldn't be so strange, but I still think it is funny that the few concertos we have written for tuba would be taken to other instruments.
