I understand what you are saying, is that why the getzen G 50 is .689 but it has a 19 1/4 inch bell? I live in Texas so the pick up analogy worked. Between my st pete and the vmi 3301 I feel so different the st pete blows so much easier than my comparison the 3301, The Vmi outsizes the st pete any day I can assume it maybe my unfamiliarity with the horn.
