This seems to be the perfect place to put in a word for Doug Elliot. His system does exactly what is needed, provides a way to couple cup size and shape, rim profile, and both shank taper and backbore size into the perfect mouthpiece for any particular horn. When last I spoke to him, his business was growing almost too large to deal with and he does all the work himself. The products are top quality and are used by many in the profrssional world. Doug is also a professional trombonist and knows both physics and the music business.
