To your list I would add the following:

You have to check out the University of Michigan. Fritz Kaenzig is a phenominal player/teacher and always seems to have a happening studio.

I would be checking on Arizona State and see what Sam Pilafian has going.

I've had 2 students go to the Cincinnati Conservatory recently. Also, the recent winner of the Oregon Symphony audition was from CCM. Tim Northcutt is a very good player and seems to be doing the right things teaching. Also, there are private lessons to be had with Mike Thornton, the tubist with the Cincinnati Symphony and one hell of a good player.

As with any decision, be sure you have a dialogue with the instructors at these institutions and try to be as sure as you can that you and the teacher will work together effectively. Good luck!
