In a recent TUBA Journal, there was an article (with pictures) about constructing a euphonium practice mute using a plastic bucket, carpet remnants and other materials (just use larger versions to construct your tuba mute). I just tossed my TUBA Journals (the most recent two years), so I don't have the issue information, but it was definitely a recent issue. Good luck,
