This seems to be the biggest con job in the brass world. Wouldn't it seem that if it really worked, instrument manufacturers would have built them into their instruments considering that it would cost them only a nickel. So the manufacturers didn't think it was worth anything, there's a guy who sells a nickel's worth of material for thirty bucks.
