Unfortunately, (or fortunately, as it now seems), I have not had the opportunity to work under Kaplan's direction; therefore, my judgement of this recording is based on the recording only. Mike Sanders' experience with Kaplan makes me want to re-listen to this recording a dozen or more times and compare it with others. Nonetheless, it's worth listening to at least once and judging for yourself.
BTW-Kaplan ONLY conducts Mahler 2. Nothing else....This could possibly explain him being a complete fraud.
