Don has had me (and some others in the studio) buzz on trumpet mouthpieces not to work on high register chops, but to strengthen the corners of our embouchure. I have not had a problem with it messing with my tuba chops, as long as I allow for time in between buzzing on a trumpet mouthpiece and playing tuba. I really don't do this that often, once every week or two, for 10-15 min., so that's all I could really recommend.

As far as Don's high chops, he told me a couple of years ago that the goal to Bydlo was to be able to wake up at 5 AM and play it down cold. After studying and working with him for three years, I'm sure he can do just that.
