I play on a gold plated mouthpiece for two reasons
1. I was having an allergic reaction to my silver plated mouthpieces after playing for more than a few hours at a time. I don't seem to have any reaction to the gold.
2. I loked the way the gold looked.
I haven't noticed any difference in the way the mouthpiece plays since having it gold plated.
