I bought a used one from the company. I had it flown to me for a trial. Nirschl makes these horns in groups of usually three or four at a time. I've heard stories of folks going to the factory and trying out as many as four in a sitting. Even though they are a relatively rare tuba, my impression is that they are still readily available. At least that was my experience.
