If you are lucky, as I was, the used Mirafones are a VERY good way to go. They are literally tanks with valves, and excellent in every respect. Most used ones even will have that shiny look, if that is still an issue. And best of all, used Mirafones (as opposed to new ones) don't cost much, I got mine for less than the cost of a St. Pete, and I got a great case with it too. Oil the valves, grease the slides, and it's a beauty.
...Untill i took it to school. Gosh, I'm never doing that again.
