A jeweler once told me to use perchlorethylene (Spray and Wash) to clean lacquered
surfaces. I have done it and it works well and does not harm the lacquer. Again,
spray on the cloth (really washed baby diapers were always my favorites but we don't
seem to use them anymore) then wipe the horn.
