He's right about cleaning it first, Kevin, I once found a MUSHROOM in an old horn, honest to goodness.
About the polish, I like to use Hagerty Silversmiths' Spray Polish, in the light blue bottle. It shines real bright, and seems to last longer than other products I've tried. If part of the horn has some real bad tarnish that won't come off, go ahead and use Wright's Cream, but not on a regular basis. Also, has anyone shown you how to "rag" a horn? This simple process will leave every bit of the instrument shiny like new, assuming there is still enough silver plate on it. Maybe one of the other fellahs here can describe it for you, this post is getting long...
Congrats, and good luck!
