I don't believe that American players are any better/worse than any other players. Speaking for myself, I am seldom exposed to tuba players from other countries. The few opportunities that I have had to hear other players have been incredible. I base my opinion of a tuba player by what I hear coming out of the bell of the horn and not by skin color or nationality. That's why I love music so much, you can't bribe an audience. You can either play or you can't. I'm sure there are fine players from virtually every country in the world. Just an opinion. Dave
