The fairly new "Talking" Dr. Beat (highest priced model that I know of) is geared towards band directors. It even has (percussion) cymbal stand female threads in the end of it, so that a conductor can have the thing at their disposal withOUT having it in the way of the sheet music score on the music stand.

Incidentally, I have observed band directors who use those things plugged into those "Long Ranger" bullhorns. My 13-year-old daughter was in one of those regional honor band things with a drum & bugle corp director/jock* who was using it on the podium in front of a concert band. OK fine, but he used it RELENTLESSLY and WAY WAY TOO LOUD. I left, so that I could avoid punching him in the face. I walked around back onstage and told my daughter she could call me if she wanted to leave.
*I like drum and bugle corps just fine. However, teaching techniques which pertain primarily to drum & bugle corps are not often appropriate for other ensembles.
