It is well known to the board contributors, that I have got problems with my lungs. During an asthma attack back in 1984 I got rotten because my very good Sovereign .547 bone would not produce the sound I wanted. Diverse chemical were out of the question, so I took a teaspoon and pressed the round side of the loaf (?) against the pretty brittle laquer of the inside of the bell,
I liked the sounding results. Placebo? Maybe. But that can be the factor that makes the problems disappear in a heated situation.
Happy that tuba was not a working tool of mine at that time.
