The question of precise terms are so complicated that one has to enter not only national styles, but also specific makes, and even production year into the discussion.

For me the similarity between the playing feel of a top level euph from Miraphone 1993 and that a Yamaha from 1995 is almost non-existent. And a non-low-brass-person hardly would be able to see any difference.

But back to the original start of the thread: Get yourself the Claude Gordon book on trumpet range. Work your way through it. Gave me a couple of extra octaves. Not the buying of the book. But the work it inspired me to do.
