The small conn is comfortable to hold and plays well except in the very low register, where its small bore makes ita bit stuffy. The Jupiter is a bigger instrument, with a correspondingly bigger sound. In my opinion it's the right size instrument, neither too big nor too small. But I find the valve placement awkward because it requires the player to bend his wrist downward. Some people don't seem to mind that, though. The second valve tubing is easily accessible to the left hand, which would make it very useful for adjusting low B and low E down to pitch, except for the fact that the extreme "open Wrap" design of the second valve tubing made it necessary to shorten that slide so much that you can't pull it far enough to bring the 2& 4 combination down to pitch! I feel that they lost more than they gained on that idea. My only other gripe about the Jupiter is that the case is unnecessarily huge.
